Contraindications For  Therapeutic Reflexology Treatment

Although reflexology is considered a safe complementary therapy, there are certain contraindications where caution should be exercised or the treatment should be completely avoided. The main contraindications for foot reflexology are:

• Open wounds, ulcers, fungal infections of the feet or hands

• Infectious diseases

• Acute inflammatory conditions

• Pre- and post-organ transplant states

• High-risk pregnancy

• Bone fractures, joint dislocations (until fully healed)

If in doubt, it is always advisable to consult a doctor or an experienced reflexologist

before starting therapy.
